PLEASE NOTE: We do not have COVID-19 Vaccines in our clinic

April 11, 2023:

The Ministry of Health has updated the COVID-19 Vaccine Guidance (Version 6.0) to reflect the following:

1. A spring booster is recommended for individuals in the following high-risk populations if at least six months has passed since their last dose or confirmed COVID-19 infection:

  • 65 years and older

  • Residents of long-term care homes, retirement homes, elder care lodges, and other congregate living settings for seniors

  • Individuals 18 years and older living in congregate care settings for people with complex medical care needs

  • Pregnant individuals

  • Individuals 18 years and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised

  • Individuals aged 55 years and older who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis and their non-Indigenous household members aged 55 years and older.

2. The minimum booster interval has been revised to 6 months (168 day) after previous dose or confirmed COVID-19 infection (characterized by positive test or after having symptoms post contact with someone who had a positive test). For those outside of the high risk groups (listed above):

  • There is currently no evidence that substantiates the need for an additional dose if a booster was already received on or after September 1, 2022.

  • To be considered up-to-date:

    • Everyone 5 years of age and older must complete a primary series and get a booster dose on or after September 1, 2022 if it has been at least 6 months after a COVID-19 vaccine dose or a COVID-19 infection

    • Children 6 months to under 5 years of age must complete a primary series

3. A primary care provider referral is no longer required to receive Janssen vaccine. TPH is currently updating the appointment booking process which will soon be available

Vaccines done outside of Ontario:

If you have had 1 or more doses of COVID-19 vaccine outside of Ontario, you will need to log it with the Provincial COVAX-ON system for your vaccination status to be recognized; you will need to register your first dose before you will be able to book your second dose with the Provincial Vaccine Booking System.

Information on registering your vaccinations can be found on the City of Toronto COVID Website or the Toronto Public Health Online Portal can be accessed directly.
